Banteay Srei Temple

Banteay Srei Temple is well known as a small temple, but its carving art is so beautiful and unique. It located 35km from Siem Reap town on the way to Kulen mountain resort. Banteay Srei temple was built by king Rajendravarman II and Jayavarman V at the second half of the 10th century, which was the last builder of his dynasty.This temple is dedicated to Hinduism. Nowadays Banteay Srei is attracting tourists around the world with its exquisite carving are incomparable and artistry of the Khmer ancient.

The temple named Banteay Srei means the citadel of women which its captures are the most beautiful and unique. Extremely of the Preah Neang Krop Leak (perfect woman) carving always admired by tourists, they stand by her and take photographs. Refer to Preah Neang Krop Leak, local people said that, Apsara Banteay Srei or Preak Neang Krop Leak deem as Khmer perfect woman, who is intelligent and great in behavior.

Banteay Srei in 2010 is better organizing to serve tourists. There are new building with the comfortable ticket window, platform, car parking space, and market center with lot of traditional Khmer products that visitors can purchase for souvenir.
